Landscape Design Process

Planning an outdoor space can feel overwhelming. Homeowners often have ideas about what they want—an outdoor living space, a pool environment, better planting structure—but turning those ideas into a cohesive plan is where most projects stall.

The design process at 605 Designs helps bring clarity to that stage. Through conversation, site analysis, and thoughtful planning, Bill works with homeowners to develop a landscape plan that guides the project and helps avoid costly changes later.

Initial Conversation

Most projects begin with a brief phone conversation with Bill.

This call allows you to discuss your property, the improvements you're considering, and your goals for your outdoor space. It also helps determine whether a design consultation is the right next step.

Design Consultation

The design process begins with a consultation at your property.

During this meeting, Bill evaluates the site, discusses ideas for the space, and begins to understand how the landscape should function around your home.

Outdoor living areas, property circulation, planting structure, and long-term landscape plans are all considered.

This conversation helps establish the direction for the design.

Understanding Project Investment

Every landscape project involves decisions about priorities. Some homeowners are planning outdoor living environments or pool areas, while others are developing a long-term plan for the entire property.

An important part of the design process is understanding the anticipated investment range for the project. Many homeowners are unsure what landscape improvements typically cost, and that’s completely normal.

Discussing a comfortable investment range early helps guide design decisions and ensures the plan reflects both the goals for the space and the level of investment you want to make.

4

Design Development

Following the consultation, Bill develops a landscape design that organizes the property into a cohesive plan.

Many homeowners begin the process with inspiration and ideas but are still exploring what is possible. The design process translates those ideas into a clear landscape plan that considers layout, outdoor living spaces, planting structure, and the relationship between the home and the surrounding environment.

Throughout this stage, Bill provides professional guidance so homeowners can move forward with confidence.

5

Moving Forward

Once the design is complete, you receive a plan that provides a clear roadmap for the project.

When you're ready to begin installation, Bill can also connect you with trusted local landscape contractors whose experience and approach best match the needs of your project.

This allows the design to be implemented smoothly while maintaining the integrity of the original vision.

Begin the Conversation

If you're considering improvements to your outdoor space and want a clear design plan before construction begins, the first step is a conversation.

After you reach out, Bill will personally follow up with a brief phone call to learn about your property and discuss the next step in the design process.
